Sundays In Bed With... Legendary and In Pursuit

Welcome to our Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

We’re done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate!  Maybe someday we’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now we feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.

This morning Kim is reading:

Legendary (Caraval #2) by Stephanie Garber

Kate here for Kim:  I don't know how much time Kim has to read today, because I know she's trying to pick out a paint color for a redecoration project, but I hope she's enjoying this one as much as I did!

This morning Kate is reading:

I grew up in Northern Virginia, but by the time the Beltway Snipers were active, I was living in Oklahoma.  I remember being terrified- one of my brothers and his family lived near the Manassas gas station (and in fact, it was their usual gas station stop) shooting location, and I still have NoVa family.  And now I live in Richmond, where the snipers spent some time.

The author- who worked the Sniper case and was actually one of the first 3 responding officers when they found the snipers at a rest area- came to the store for an author event, and I was fascinated by his talk.  I'm about half way through the book, so the cops are only now finally getting some evidence to work with.  For the first 7 to 9 days, there were no good clues because of the nature of the shootings, and while there were hundreds and thousands of tips coming in, most of them were connected to White Van spottings, that turned out to be false leads.  They even had a witness who lied about seeing the suspects, just for attention.  The random killings and the familiar settings makes for a chilling read, ya'll.
